Warehouse Assistant
Job Description
The Warehouse Assistant shall be responsible for the efficient and accurate picking of all orders. They shall have good understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and hazards/ risks related to their job and shall assist where possible in the implementation of new procedures or other actions geared towards improving the Warehouse operations. These duties include but are not limited to the following:
•  Keep the Warehouse house and surrounding areas clean and tidy
•  Pack and sort products as required per direction given.
•  Pack and Stack returnable for return to Plants as directed.
•  Sort and pack products when called upon to do so.
•  Pack orders for trucks as directed.
•  Any other general duties relating to the smooth operation of the warehouse as designated by the Warehouse management.

Skills/Core Competencies:
Physical Requirements:
•  Keep the Warehouse house and surrounding areas clean and tidy
- Compliance with the standards and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of the work environment, both personnel and third parties, through escalating unsafe behaviors and conditions.
•  Pack and sort products as required per direction given.
•  Pack and Stack returnable for return to Plants as directed.
•  Sort and pack products when called upon to do so.
•  Pack orders for trucks as directed.
•  Any other general duties relating to the smooth operation of the warehouse as designated by the Warehouse management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of Secondary School Education, 3 CXC’s including Mathematics or English
Skills/Core Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of warehousing
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to drive forklift (Asset)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be capable of lifting up to 40lbs comfortably
- Be capable of stepping up and down from height of a truck or loading platform
- Reaching and bending over will be required
- May be required to work at height occasionally in lift
- Be capable of maneuvering with a trolley or other assistive device.
